The short version
- 1:1 coaching is billed monthly, in advance, on the 1st of each month.
- We recommend at least 3 months of coaching, because that is how long real progress takes to show. If life gets in the way, talk to your coach and we will decide together.
- To stop coaching, give one month's (30 days') written notice.
- We do not refund part months, missed sessions or unused weeks. Our Refund policy explains when refunds apply and how they are paid.
- Coaching is not medical care. Please also read our Health, risk & liability agreement.
- Your legal rights as a consumer in your country always apply. Nothing here takes them away.

About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to everyone who receives coaching or buys a training plan from Apex Rises Coaching. Together with our Health, risk & liability agreement and our Privacy policy, they form your coaching agreement with us.
Apex Rises Coaching is the trading name of Claude Truter, a South African UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coach who lives and works in Georgia, the country in the Caucasus. We coach athletes worldwide. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Apex Rises Coaching. "You" means the athlete receiving coaching.

Our coaching services
1:1 online coaching includes:
- A detailed conversation about your background, goals and constraints.
- A long range plan built around your race calendar.
- Weekly training with a clear purpose for each session.
- Regular review of your completed training, fitness, fatigue and feedback, with your plan adjusted as needed.
- WhatsApp and email support between reviews.
- Event specific pacing, fuelling and race preparation, including pre race and post race check ins.
- General guidance on recovery, strength and mobility.
All coaching is delivered remotely unless we agree otherwise in writing. Our guidance is educational and performance focused. It does not replace advice from a doctor, physiotherapist, registered dietitian or other health professional.
We use the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) scale alongside heart rate and pace to guide effort. This is especially important on trails and in ultras, where pace is often a poor guide to effort. We explain the scale during onboarding.
04
Starting coaching
- You apply through our application form. We then talk about your goals and confirm fit and availability before coaching begins.
- Your coaching agreement starts when you accept these terms (by ticking the box on the application form or signing your onboarding agreement) and your first payment is received.
- During onboarding we ask you to complete a short health and readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q). Please answer it honestly. It helps keep you safe.
- Athletes under 18 can only be coached with the written agreement of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the athlete's behalf.
05
Registration and confidentiality
- You do not need to create an account on our website. There is no login, and no card details are entered or stored on our website.
- To start coaching, you complete our application form and, once accepted, our athlete agreement. You must give accurate, complete information, including your health and readiness answers, and keep it up to date.
- Your training is delivered through an account on a training platform such as TrainingPeaks. You are responsible for keeping your login details for that platform private.
- Payments are made on the secure payment pages of our payment provider, Yoco. Card details are handled only by them.
- We keep everything you share with us confidential. We use your information only to coach you and run the business, we never sell it, and we share it only as described in our Privacy policy.
06
Training platform and communication
Your plan is delivered through TrainingPeaks, or another platform we agree on with you, such as intervals.icu or Final Surge. You will need an account on that platform, and some features may require you to pay the platform directly.
You can reach your coach through comments on your training platform, WhatsApp, email at info@apexrises.com, or Telegram if we agree to use it.
We aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours on weekdays. Replies may take longer on weekends, public holidays and race or travel days. We will let you know in advance about planned periods when we are unavailable.
Coaching messages are not an emergency service. If you are injured, unwell or in danger, contact local emergency services or a medical professional first.
07
Delivery of services
All our services are delivered online. No physical products are sold or shipped, and there are no delivery charges.
1:1 coaching
- Once your first payment is confirmed, we contact you within 2 working days to complete onboarding.
- Your first training plan is published to your training platform within 5 working days of your first payment and completed onboarding (including the athlete agreement and readiness questionnaire), or on the start date we agree with you.
- After that, training is published in advance each week, and your completed sessions are reviewed and your plan adjusted throughout each month you have paid for.
- Support is provided by WhatsApp, email and training platform comments during our working hours.
Ready made training plans
- Ready made plans are sent by email as a digital file, or loaded to your training platform, within 1 working day of payment.
If you have not received your service or plan within these times, contact us at info@apexrises.com. If we cannot deliver it, you will receive a full refund.
08
Your part in the process
Good coaching depends on good information. You agree to:
- Comment on your sessions and tell us how they actually felt, not just what the watch recorded.
- Keep us informed about sleep, stress, fatigue, pain or niggles, illness and changes to your work or family schedule.
- Tell us promptly about any new injury, medical condition, medication or pregnancy that could affect your training.
- Ask when a workout or its purpose is unclear.
- Use your own judgement on the day and adjust or stop a session when conditions, terrain or how you feel make it unsafe.
- Arrange your own race entries, travel, equipment and insurance.
We usually start conservatively and progress as we learn how you respond to training.
09
Fees and payment
Current monthly prices for 1:1 coaching are:
| Region | Monthly fee |
|---|---|
| South Africa | R1,500 per month |
| Georgia | ₾160 per month |
| International | US$99 per month |
- The price that applies to you is the one confirmed in your onboarding agreement.
- Your first payment is due before coaching starts. After that, fees are paid in advance and are due on the 1st of each month.
- Payment is made through the secure payment link we send you. We currently accept payments through Yoco, or another method we agree in writing. We never ask for card details by message or email.
- Any bank, transfer or currency conversion charges on your side are your responsibility.
- If a payment is not received by the due date, we may pause coaching until it is paid. We will contact you before we do.
- We may change our prices. Active athletes get at least 30 days' written notice. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you can end coaching on the date the new price takes effect, without serving the usual notice period.
10
Recommended commitment
We recommend committing to at least 3 months of coaching. Real adaptation takes time, the first weeks are when we learn how you respond to training, and 3 months is usually when clear, measurable progress starts to show.
This is a recommendation, not a lock in. Life happens. If illness, injury, a medical issue, work, family or anything else means coaching is no longer right for you, talk to your coach. We will agree on the best way forward together, whether that is a pause, a lighter plan or ending coaching early. You will never be held to 3 months against your circumstances.
11
Cancellation policy
Consistency is critical to your training and racing, and that includes a steady coaching relationship. Our cancellation policy is reciprocal: either of us can end the agreement by giving written notice.
If you want to cancel
- Give one month's (30 days') written notice by email to info@apexrises.com or by WhatsApp message.
- Fees for the notice period are payable. Coaching continues as normal during that time.
- If your notice period ends partway through a month you have already paid for, coaching continues to the end of that paid month. We do not refund the remainder.
- If a medical issue or another serious change in your life makes the notice period unfair, talk to your coach and we will agree a fair outcome together.
Refunds are explained in our Refund policy below.
If we end the agreement
- We can end the agreement for any reason by giving you 30 days' written notice. If you have paid for any period after the end date, we will refund it.
- We can pause or end coaching immediately if a payment remains unpaid after a reminder, if communication lapses for an extended period without explanation, if you withhold health information that affects your safety, if you are abusive towards us, or if you seriously break these terms.
12
Refund policy
When you are entitled to a refund
- We cannot deliver. If we cannot start or continue your coaching, or cannot deliver a ready made plan, you receive a full refund for any period or product you paid for and did not receive.
- We end coaching. If we end coaching, any fees you paid for the period after the end date are refunded in full.
- Payment errors. If you are charged twice or charged the wrong amount, the difference is refunded in full.
- Faulty plans. If a ready made plan is faulty or not as described and we cannot fix it, you receive a full refund.
- Your legal rights. Where consumer law gives you a right to cancel and be refunded, for example the 14 day cancellation right for UK and EU customers, we refund you as that law requires.
What is not refundable
- Part months, missed sessions and unused weeks of coaching you have already paid for.
- Fees for your notice period after you cancel.
- Ready made plans once delivered, unless they are faulty or the law requires a refund.
How to request a refund
- Email info@apexrises.com with your name, the date and amount of the payment, and the reason for your request.
- We reply within 2 working days to confirm whether the refund is approved.
- Approved refunds are returned to the same card or payment method you used, through the payment provider that processed it, in the currency you paid, within 10 working days of approval.
- Your bank may take a further 5 to 10 working days to show the refund on your statement.
13
Ready made training plans
Where we sell ready made training plans or other digital products, these terms also apply.
- Plans are delivered digitally, usually immediately after payment.
- At checkout you ask us to deliver the plan straight away. For customers in the UK and EU, this means you lose your 14 day right to cancel once the download or delivery has started.
- A ready made plan is general guidance and is not adjusted to you. Use it with judgement, and read our Health, risk & liability agreement before you start.
- Plans are for your personal use only. Please do not share, copy or resell them.
14
Our content and your data
Training plans, workouts, documents and other materials we create remain our property. We give you a personal licence to use them for your own training. You may not share, publish or resell them without our written permission.
Your training data and personal information belong to you. How we handle them is explained in our Privacy policy.
We would love to celebrate your results. We will only use your name, photos or testimonial on our website or social media with your permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
15
Results
We will always coach with care, skill and honesty. Performance depends on many things outside our control, including your health, consistency, recovery, life circumstances, weather and race conditions. We therefore cannot guarantee a particular result, finish time or race outcome.
16
Health, safety and liability
Endurance and trail running carry real risks. Our Health, risk & liability agreement explains those risks, your responsibilities and how our liability is limited. It forms part of your coaching agreement.
Where the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with our services is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost race entry fees, travel costs or loss of earnings.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence in the UK and EU, for gross negligence, or for fraud.
17
Your consumer rights
We work with athletes in many countries. You keep every right that the consumer law where you live gives you. In particular:
United Kingdom & EU
When you sign up online, you have 14 days to cancel. If you ask us to start coaching within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay only for the coaching provided up to the date you cancel.
South Africa
The Consumer Protection Act applies in full. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under it, including your right to fair, reasonable and honest dealing.
Georgia and all other countries
Any rights you have under the consumer law of your country apply in addition to these terms, and take priority where they give you more protection.
18
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us first by emailing info@apexrises.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and work with you to put things right.
19
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If we make a significant change that affects active athletes, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies.
20
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, the country in the Caucasus where Apex Rises Coaching is based (not the US state of Georgia). If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
