An experienced coach.
A person in your corner.
Claude Truter · UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coach

A lifetime of running.
Attention to your journey.
Over 20 years running. More than 300 races. Over eight years coaching.
My running experience spans mountain trails, road running, cross country and shorter-distance races. Coaching grew from the same interest: understanding what helps runners develop and supporting them through the work.
I have coached athletes completing Comrades, preparing for major UTMB races, taking on many other ultras and improving across shorter distances. Those are my athletes’ achievements. My role is to help them arrive prepared.
Training is grounded in evidence-based methods and informed by practical experience. The decisions still have to fit the athlete in front of me.

The whole person.
The whole picture.
I’m also a husband and father of three. I understand that training shares space with work, family, stress and unexpected changes.
That understanding shows up in the coaching: realistic weeks, careful progression and enough recovery to absorb the work. A missed day is something to account for, not something to punish or make up.
“Training should support your life, not consume it.”

Evidence
Training methods have a purpose. We use completed sessions, feedback and benchmarks to guide decisions.
Experience
Race demands go beyond fitness. Terrain, pacing, fuelling and practical judgement shape preparation.
Attention
Your response matters. The plan changes when fatigue, recovery, work or family change the picture.
