About Coach Claude
Passionate about running for over 20 years and dedicated to helping athletes achieve their goals through smart, science-backed training.
Hello! I’m Claude
I’m the founder and head coach of Apex Rises Coaching. Running has been my passion for over 20 years, from competing in track and cross-country at school to road running and ultra mountain running. I’ve experienced every aspect of the sport, and that experience also goes into every training plan I create.
I’ve worked with athletes of all levels, from beginners taking their first nervous steps toward a 5K to experienced runners smashing 100km+ races in the mountains. Each athlete is unique, and I love creating a training program that fits their specific goals, abilities, and life circumstances.
As a UESCA-certified ultrarunning coach, sports enthusiast, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my athletes. But certifications only tell part of the story. What really matters is the combination of formal education, personal experience, and the genuine care I have for each athlete’s success.
Coaching for me is deeply personal. I believe that training plans should adapt to the athlete, not the other way around. As a husband and father of three, I know firsthand what it’s like to chase ambitious goals while juggling the demands of real life. Your training should enhance your life, not consume it.
My approach focuses on holistic training that integrates physical and mental preparation. I’m also a tech and data enthusiast, using modern tools and analytics to monitor progress and optimise training, while never losing sight of the fact that you’re a human being, not just a data point.
Credentials & Expertise
Combining formal education, certifications, and decades of personal running experience.
My Coaching Philosophy
These core values guide every training plan I create and every athlete I work with.
Personal Connection
Coaching is personal to me. I believe every athlete deserves individualized attention and a training plan that truly fits their life, not a cookie-cutter approach.
Adaptability
Training plans should adapt to the athlete, not the other way around. Life happens, and training should stay flexible while still moving you toward your goals.
Real-Life Balance
As a husband and father of three, I understand balancing training with family and work. Your program will be realistic and sustainable.
Holistic Approach
I combine holistic training—physical and mental—with the latest sports science and years of running experience for optimal results.
